FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

This page provides the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you can not find what you are looking for feel free to contact us for more information.

  • Why are other quotes cheaper?
We often get asked why our competitors’ quotes are cheaper than ours. Our quotes are itemised, broken down, and easy to understand. We undertake proper surface preparation and incorporate a tiling system in our work, which includes surface primers, a better grade tile adhesive, additives, silicone finishes, the use of a tile-leveling system, and a high-end finish. Since tiling is regarded as a finishing trade, it is all about the finished result. Bad contractors can end up doing half a job, not finishing, leaving a mess, destroying your surrounding areas, using improper tiling techniques, causing tile lippage, making ugly cuts, and costing you hundreds to thousands of dollars. All our work is done by the same tiler; therefore, if you were referred to us, you will be getting the same result, unlike some contractors who sub-contract the work out.
  • How do I get started?
You can get in touch with us via SMS, email or by calling 0411 200 486. We will generally ask for your contact details, a photo of the area, measurements, and the tile you will be using. An estimate will then be provided to give you an idea of how much the project will cost. We will then book you in for an onsite inspection to assess the project, and discuss design, materials, time frame and answer any other questions. Are you licensed and insured? Yes, you can be assured that we are fully licenced in the installation of floor and wall tiling and internal wet area waterproofing. Our business has a $5 million public liability coverage, which protects our clients and employees in the case of unforeseen damage or injuries. NSW Fair Trading contractor licence number: 157833C
  • What happens on the day?
We will assess the site and confirm with you where we will do all the mixing, tile cutting and disposal of wastewater. The area will be covered with drop sheets and plastic film to protect your home and surroundings. Prior to tiling, the area will be carefully planned and set out and have your approval before we start. We will guide you through the whole process, answer any questions you may have to ensure that you are getting nothing but the best quality result for your project.
  • What is a niche?
A niche is a shelf which is recessed into the bathroom wall and is a practical and stylish vessel for storing shampoos and soap. Did you know? We can frame up niches, or work with your carpenter to design a niche for the perfect tile set up.
  • How much tiles do I need?
When purchasing tiles, you will need to allow 10% for wastage and spares. Our services also include tile measurement.
  • What do I need to supply?
In most cases, just tiles. We supply reputable brand tile adhesives, grout, additives, primers silicone, angles, trims, and grates. For a complete bathroom renovation, you have the option of sourcing your own bath tubs, toilets, vanities and fittings.
  • What about ceiling cornices , timber skirting or cutting of doors?"
We recommend the removal of all timber skirting before floor-tile installations and cornices in bathrooms. This will provide a much finer finish. In most cases a door may need to be cut, and we can provide this service at an additional cost.
  • Will I have access to toilet, showers and walkways during tiling?"
To minimise disruption, we work with your schedule to ensure you have access to your kitchen, bedrooms, and other facilities where possible. For work undertaken in wet areas where there may be no access to a shower or toilet, we can recommend a portable toilet, shower, or bathroom hire service.
  • How are you different to your competitors?
Here are the differences between us and our competitors: Surface Preparation This includes removal of dust, grease, and grime. It also requires the use of additives and surface primers before tile installation. We do this! Type of Adhesives and Grouts The cost of adhesives can vary immensely per bag and is a major factor in cost-cutting. We only use the very best tile adhesives, grouts, and additives. Sealant Where others grout, we caulk! Most of our competitors grout at internal corners, bench tops, wall and floor junctions, and areas that are prone to movement. In contrast, we apply silicone instead of grout. This prevents the cracking of grout and water penetration. Tile Setup and Layout With the use of advanced lasers, we find, plumb, level, and square to achieve the best possible set up for your tiling. We try to avoid unnecessary small cuts and tile wastage. Neat, Clean Cutting This makes a huge difference to a finished job. You will find neat, clean cuts around architraves, skirting, floor waste, angles, finished wall and floor tiles, and cornices. Lippage-Free With the popularity of large-format tiles, tile lippage (uneven tiles) has become an eyesore and trip hazard. Most of our work is lippage-free and with the minimal grout joint where specified. Cleanliness We protect your home and surroundings before and during any installation. We always use drop sheets and plastic film to protect your walls, floors, and carpet. Safety First You can rest easy in the knowledge that we are fully licensed and insured. Our team members are also registered and trained in workplace safety. Qualified Tradesmen We do not subcontract work to unlicensed contractors or send an apprentice to complete a job. You will always have a qualified tiler working on your project.
